Your Victorian Day Planning Committee

committee@victoriandays.org

We strive to provide a variety of activities for both adults and children. Some of those that are already scheduled are: High Tea, Teddy Bear Tea, Quilt Show, May Pole Dance, 4th Annual Moustache Contest, Gilbert & Sullivan Sing-a-Long, Civil War Encampments, a Plant Exchange, food both, and several demonstrators and merchant booths.

Important Information

All crafts, skills, products, and activities MUST have a Victorian theme.

This means they must either represent the Victorian era in some way or must have been able to be accomplished in the late 1800s to early 1900s. Your event need not literally be Victorian, but obviously modern events or themes will be regretfully declined.

If you are unsure whether your event is appropriate, please submit it anyway. There is no submission fee, and the committee will contact you whether or not your event is accepted.

Demonstrations and booths should be set up by 10am and MUST run until 5pm.

Most demonstrators will be at Maypole Park (center of the 200 block on S. Bridge St. in downtown Grand Ledge) if the weather cooperates; otherwise, alternative indoor space will be available. We will contact you to confirm your participation and verify your space.

While not required, we encourage all participants to dress in Victorian garb.

For tips on approximating a simple mock-Victorian look using modern items already in your closet, see our quick article, From here to Victorian (on the cheap).

Participation fees

  1. Activity only, no sales = no fees

  2. If you are demonstrating a craft/skill or doing another type of activity and NOT selling products, there is no participation fee.

  3. Activity + sales = 10% of sales, max $20 fee

  4. If you will be demonstrating PLUS selling products, the participation fee is 10% of sales, with a maximum fee of $20.

  5. Sales only = $25 fee

  6. If you will be selling products ONLY, we will contact you with details on how to send the $25 participation fee.

We will contact you to arrange details and collect your participation fee, if applicable.
