The 4th Annual Moustache Contest at Victorian Day will be held at 3pm in the gazebo at the Island Park in downtown Grand Ledge, MI.

Registration begins promptly at 3pm at the Lemonade Stand in front of the gazebo, and judging will occur between 3 and 3:30. Contestants must be present throughout the competition to win.

Prizes will be awarded based on the decisions of The Committee of Proper Victorian Ladies for the Advancement of the Inspiring and Gentlemanly Moustache.

All styles and lengths of moustache and/or beard are allowed, but you must have at least one or the other.

This year’s categories include:

1. ★Grand Prize — Best of Show, determined by our panel of judges
   

2. ★1st Prize, determined by judges’ vote and audience enthusiasm (bring your friends!)
   

1. ★Best Creative Use of a Moustache or Beard as a Medium of Artistic Expression
   

2. ★Most Accurate Depiction of an Historical or Famous Moustache or Beard **
   

3. ★Best Dastardly or Otherwise Devious Presentation of a Whiskered Visage
   

And one prize of dubious honour may be given at the judges’ discretion:

1. ★Honourable Mention for Most Sincere Attempt at Hirsute Fortitude (or Most Successful Attempt to Bribe the Judges)
   

(** To win the Most Accurate Depiction prize, the contestant must be able to give some details on the historical or famous facial locks of whom he — or she — is portraying. The judges reserve the right to access modern technology for on-the-spot fact-checking.)
