Returning this year: Civil War Sunday!
Our Civil War muster and activities are set on beautiful Island Park on the Grand River in downtown Grand Ledge, and are open to the public Saturday, 6 May and Sunday, 7 May 2017.
We provide units with firewood, and on-site access to running water, as well as modern bathrooms.
There are no fees of any kind to participate, and parking is free.
Among our scheduled activities this year, we will have two skirmishes for control of the island, one on Saturday and another on Sunday.
Civilian and military units have access to facilities and can begin setting up camps mid-day on Friday, 5 May. Visitor events take place throughout Saturday and Sunday.
Events on Saturday begin at 10am and wrap up at 5pm, giving both visitors and re-enactors time to grab a bite for dinner and get ready to attend our Grand Victorian Ball at the Opera House at 7pm, if so inclined (tickets are $25 each before 29 March 2017 or $30 each at the door).
Sunday's activities are centred around the Civil War muster and activities (Civil War Sunday), from 10am to 5pm.
Sunday's activities will open with a Guided Walking Tour of the Civil War muster and encampments on the Island, and will conclude with a skirmish for control of the Island Bridge.
A full schedule of events for both days can be found on our Schedule page.
We're actively recruiting military and civilian units and groups to participate in our muster and activities! To register your group or unit please complete the form below or, for more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
