Registration for the 2017 festival is now closed.

If you or your group already registered for our Civil War activities,
read on for set-up and logistics information.

Our Civil War muster and activities are set on beautiful Island Park on the Grand River in downtown Grand Ledge, and are open to the public Saturday, 6 May and Sunday, 7 May 2017.

Civilian and military units have access to facilities and can begin setting up camps mid-day on Friday, 5 May. Visitor events take place throughout Saturday and Sunday.

When your group members arrive at Island Park, they should check in with Bill Tacker of the 8th ARK/22nd MI or Steve Bucher of the 4th Michigan, our Civil War Coordinators, to be directed to their spaces and sign their participation waivers.

On check-in, our Coordinator will show your representative the location of free firewood, on-site running water, and the restroom facilities, as well as assign your designated overnight parking area and give you your numbered parking permit. Because of Grand Ledge City ordinances on overnight public parking, your parking permit must be visible on the dash of your vehicle so that police know you have permission to park overnight.

Events on Saturday begin at 10am and wrap up at 5pm. After the festivities, the island will remain available to your group for camping and cooking for the evening. Please remember that, while relatively private, this is a public park in the middle of a residential area and excessive revelry will bring the attention of the local constabulary.

Sunday's activities are centred around the Civil War muster and activities (Civil War Sunday), from 10am to 5pm.
Sunday's activities will open with a Guided Walking Tour of the Civil War muster and encampments on the Island, and will conclude with a skirmish for control of the Island Bridge.

Saturday tear-down is allowed starting at 5pm and Sunday tear-down is allowed starting after the closing event (the Skirmish) at 4pm. Vehicles will be allowed on the island beginning at 5pm when the festival ends. On Saturday and Sunday, camp areas must be cleaned of all straw, refuse, and other leavings, and firepit areas must be returned to their original condition prior to leaving.

A full schedule of events for both days can be found on our Schedule page.

If your group has been confirmed but for any reason cannot attend, we ask that you email our Civil War Coordinator or message us on Facebook to inform us as soon as possible so that we can reallocate your space.

We look forward to having you at Victorian Days!
